Healthy Heart Patient Association
The Healthy Heart Association of Cardiovascular Patients unites patients with hypertension with high blood cholesterol, living with other cardiovascular diseases, and anyone with a concern for heart health and a healthy lifestyle.
The Healthy Heart Association has ambitious goals not only to teach the public to prevent these diseases or to live with them well, but also to be heard in making important decisions in government.
Mission
Our mission is to organize educational seminars, lectures, invite specialists in various fields for interviews, engage in other educational activities. We also seek to influence policy decisions relevant to the health system. For example, one of the first goals is to combat the wider availability of reimbursable medicines for cardiovascular disease.
Mortality from cardiovascular diseases in Lithuania is 56 percent. One in three people has certain cardiovascular problems or is already a cardiac patient with cardiac arrhythmias, high blood pressure (hypertension), high levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol, being overweight or having type 2 diabetes.
