Special recording: Prioritising your heart health!
The Global Heart Hub* is delighted to share a new video resource, ‘Prioritising your heart health’ featuring an excellent panel discussion with Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and Medical Broadcaster; heart patients Livvy Gosney and Greg Ruf; and Global Heart Hub Executive Director, Neil Johnson.
The panellists share their advice on putting your heart health first and discuss how to recognise and communicate new or changing symptoms of cardiovascular disease. Today it is more important than ever to seek medical help in time. Livvy (from the UK) was diagnosed with congenital heart valve disease in 2015. A few years later, Livvy started to experience a worsening of heart valve disease symptoms, including breathlessness, fatigue and dizziness. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Livvy needed open-heart surgery to replace her bicuspid valve.
In 2014, Greg (from the USA) was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle. In August 2020, Greg was hospitalised for Congestive Heart Failure. He made multiple hospital visits during the pandemic with arrhythmias and worsening heart failure. Greg received a heart transplant in July 2021 and is now recovering.
Don’t miss this excellent panel discussion. Share the video link with your patient organisation members, friends and relatives!
